    Finding the RIGHT Pair of Mom Workout Pants

    When the age clock hits 40, your body starts to slowly morph into something different. That once formed body with great curves and toned areas slowly became like Jell-O. I knew I had to do something, and I knew what that meant. But first, it meant finding the right workout/exercise gear that would be right for my body, my lifestyle, and my wallet.


    This isn’t your Lululemon workout gear. I mean don’t get my wrong, I’ve felt those buttery leggings and thought “MUST HAVE!” But my wallet said something different. Plus, do I really want those expensive leggings so I can get dog drool and kids crumbs all over them. Maybe one day…So, I was on the hunt for the right pair of workout leggings. I knew I couldn’t just get any old pair of leggings. I didn’t have that type of body. I needed a pair that would hold in that tummy, told up to some serious sweat, not be sheer to where I could see my skin when I bent down, and had pockets-pockets were a MUST!

    I literally hopped from website to website searching up women’s black workout leggings. Here’s what I noticed all the pictures of the models wearing leggings had perfect bodies. Umm…so, I’m pretty sure that my tummy control workout leggings with pockets shouldn’t apply to those in the pictures with no mommy tummy, muffin top, or in fact fat anywhere on the body. And to be quite honest, I am not the type of mom who buys leggings in colors and crazy patterns….black, my workout pants are all black-different styles, but all black! Although, I do one pair of THE GYM PEOPLE WORKOUT LEGGINGS in Gray Marble. Those I can tolerate. It’s nothing super crazy just some swirls to give some character to my workout leggings wardrobe.

I imagined a stable, content, even joyous chapter; however, the reality I’m facing now is colored with anxiety, loneliness, sadness, and, for lack of better words, a feeling that something isn’t quite right.

    Why is this important? It’s not just a personal narrative. Turning 40 has become a cultural benchmark that often prompts introspection about one’s achievements and life path. It’s expected to be a time when you’ve figured it out – life, work, relationships. Yet here I am, with all the markers of success—a solid career, advanced education, a family, a house, pets—feeling more uncertain and less fulfilled than I ever expected to.

    What happened along the way? It’s as if I’ve been following a map drawn up by societal expectations, only to realize it lead to someone else’s treasure. The scripts we write for ourselves as young dreamers don’t account for the plot twists that life throws in our path. The scripts also don’t dictate our emotions. You can check off every achievement and still feel an emptiness when the applause fades.     Getting The Ball Rolling…Again

    each sunrise is a new day to start Each sunrise is a opportunity to make things better.

    I feel like I’m reinventing the wheel with this journey that I have reentered again. However, it’s not about reinventing what I am doing. I am reinventing MYSELF and HOW I am going to travel through this journey. I started this online business, blogging, who even knows what I was doing journey just about a year ago. I thought “I can do this, too.” “Look at all these people working and making money online, starting businesses, sharing their story. If they can do it, I can certainly do it.”

    Here’s what I learned about this…these people all possessed one thing I didn’t have. It wasn’t more intelligence. It wasn’t more money to start. It wasn’t more time. It was confidence. Not only did I find myself going deeper and deeper in debt, stressing over finances. I found myself losing who I was-mentally and emotionally. In all my 40 years of life, I don’t ever think I’ve cried as much as I have in the past few months than my entire life. And the worst part is, I am cognitively aware of this-which sucks more. I hit a true dark space that I know people can hit, have heard people go through, and always thought “my god, how can someone actually feel that way about themselves.” Well, now I know because I am it. I was it.

    I want to share my stories and my journey with you through my career, through my family, marriage, continuing of building my education that supports my career, and mental health. I know there are many mommas like me who want to make their children’s lives better, their family’s life better, their financial life better, but also their own life. As moms we tend to push ourselves to the back burner and just become this robotic figure who goes through the motions of everything. I was told “we just want a mom and a wife.” WTF does that mean? Does that mean I can’t be me? Does that mean I can’t be who I want to be because I am living through everyone else in my house? And that’s where that STOPS and this journey STARTS. It’s time to find me. It’s time to let me find my happiness. Time to push the feeling of defeat, sadness, and guilt. It’s time for things to change. Time for me to find me.

    How I’m Getting My Balance

    78% of moms don’t take time for themselves

    How YOU can Change that. I know, I know! You’re thinking “there’s NO extra time in my day.” “How can I possibly “take time for myself.”

    Just like you, I was always thinking there’s not enough hours in the day. If I don’t do this or get it done, who will?

    When people ask, “Hey, come with us.” I automatically think, I can’t go, Who’s going to watch the kids?

    The line of reasons….or shall we call them excuses about WHY moms are not taking time for themselves.

    The WHY we can’t as moms can go on forever, BUT what happens if we were to actually take some time DAILY, not weekly, not monthly, not yearly for ourselves.  What if we, moms, get rid of the Mom Guilt that is automatically created the day we become moms and parents.

    Mom Guilt

    I used to think it was bad when I wanted to leave the kids either at home with my husband or with my mom and just go get my nails done, go shopping, go exercise, or even go out to dinner with friends. I ALWAYS felt guilty whenever I had to the slightest thought to want to do something for myself. It took me 16 years to realize that giving myself a little care, giving myself some time wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. I found out that when I came back 30 minutes later or even a few hours later everything was just and everyone was fine.

    Now that’s not to say that I abuse, take advantage of wanting or having time for myself, but I started doing it. I stopped having my children tag along when I wanted to go somewhere or stopped that feeling of guilt when I wanted to go do something for myself.

    Your whole mindset, your emotions, everything is reset. It’s like you’re back to neutral. Whether is 20 minutes to a few hours take time for yourself. I not only realized but learned that I was important. I AM IMPORTANT, and so are YOU!

    Your mental health and body will Thank YOU.

    Start getting your healthy balance

    3 things to start TODAY to give yourself time and sanity. I have been trying myself to do at least one thing a day or every other day (depending on the day) for my own stability and mental health

    1. Start Small. Go do something you ENJOY and can rejuvenate your soul:  Read a book, go for a walk, go for a workout. That small amount of time to yourself not only clears your mind but gets your body back to reset.
    1. Priotizie. Make a list of WHAT MUST get done and what can also get done, but can wait. The amount that MUST get done is much smaller than the add ons we usually take on
    1. Say NO: As moms we constantly add on additional things to our lives. It’s ok, we got it! But what if we didn’t take on that additional thing OR say YES to doing one more thing. It’s ok to say no. If it’s not necessary then it can wait OR someone else can do it.

    Just because you want a little bit of you time doesn’t make you lazy. It doesn’t make you a bad person, a bad wife, or a bad mom. It makes you a person. A person who counts. A person who matters just as much as the next person does.

    YES! I’ve done it. My new website is up and running, and this is the platform from where I’m going to launch and build out my online business venture…with a little help, of course.
